THE PROBLEM

Trashing tennis balls is unsustainable
Nationwide, approximately 125 million used tennis balls wind up in America’s landfills. That is 20,000 metric tons of methane-producing, non-decomposable rubber waste. U.S. tennis players recognize this as a significant environmental problem that no longer represents their sport in 2017.
RecycleBalls, along with France, is now leading the way internationally with “Operation Jaune,” a government and industry-sponsored commitment to recycling all tennis balls in their country. This fast-growing effort is now recycling 11% of all tennis balls nationwide and has received international acclaim.
U.S. Tennis players want to do what is environmentally right and would recycle all of their balls if convenient courtside bins were available. Organizations want to be part of a cost-effective green solution that reflects well on their brand. In short, there needs to be an economical, universally adopted initiative to collect, recycle, and publicize a national solution that will keep all tennis balls out of U.S. landfills and recycle these into green products.
We now have a scalable solution that is being quickly adopted nationally. Our intention is to recycle all donated balls into green products/solutions that will improve lives and ensure that U.S. tennis becomes a green sport.
Recycling is the future of U.S. tennis and presents this industry with a significant opportunity.to do the right thing.
